Dystopian Societies Are Not for Sissies
Someone once said that growing old isn’t for sissies. Let me tell you, dystopian societies aren’t either. Think about it. There are really mean villains who also just happen to be members of the ruling politburo who get their jollies by making teens and tweens perform very dangerous feats. Nobody likes a bully, except another bully, and the sequel to Maze Runners has hate-worthy bullies all over the place. Fortunately, dystopian societies seem to be populated by attractive young men and women who manage to find love amidst the turmoil of such tortures as the Scorch Trials.
The other nice thing is that you can attend the upcoming September 15th world debut of maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. Not only that, you can also go to the after-party, where luckily, you won’t have to run through the Scorch. You will, however, have to direct your browser over to http://www.thevipconcierge.com/VIPEvents/532/Maze-Runner-The-Scorch-Trials-Movie-Premiere-VIP-Tickets-After-Party.aspx so you can pick up your tickets to the show. If you’re a fan of the wildly popular book series written by James Dashner, it’s likely that you’re also a fan of the film series directed by Wes Ball and starring Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Nathalie Emmanuel, Ki Hong Lee, Jacob Lofland and Lili Taylor. It won’t hit the theaters until three days after the premiere, but then you have to go see it at the local million-plex with a mega-crowd of people you don’t even know. It’s about ten thousand times more fun to walk down the red carpet to see the premiere with the cast, crew and the folks who were responsible for making the film. And there is nothing like the after-party for a major film debut, unless it’s the after-party for another major film release, be it dystopian or not.
If you thought everything turned out OK for the Maze Runners in the first film, you were sorely mistaken. It turns out that the folks who saved the Gladers were an insidious bunch who had even worse things in store for them–like the Scorch Trials, where the Gladers have to make their way across the burned-out carcass of the United States, and it really does not look like fun.
One thing that is fun and cool about Scorch Trials is the soundtrack, which includes original music composed by John Paesano. It is scheduled for release on September 11, but if you’d like to pre-order it, you can do so at Amazon.
Don’t get burned out. Be there for all the action as the Gladers take on the Scorch. You don’t want to be smoldering at home while everyone else is all aglow. There’s plenty of blazing action and more twists and jerks than a 60s dance party.
