2025 iHeartRadio Music Award Nominees and Winners
iHeartRadio typically announces the full list of nominees in late January, so there’s plenty of time for newcomers and established hitmakers to top the charts before voting begins. Last year’s award show featured a diverse group of contenders vying for fan-voted trophies. Taylor Swift (10), Morgan Wallen (10), Post Malone (10), Sabrina Carpenter (10) and Kendrick Lamar (9) led with the most nominations and competed against each other for Artist of the Year. That’s no surprise! These performers have been cleaning up at industry award shows for months! Award show darling Taylor Swift swept the iHeartRadio Music Awards, winning 9 of her 10 nominations.
Mariah Carey received the Icon Award, which puts her up there will all-time greats like Cher who received the award last year! Lady Gaga was honored with 2025 iHeartRadio Innovator Award due to her vast portfolio of work and commitment to social justice. Meanwhile, former American Idol contestant Benson Boone took home the prestigious Song of the Year award for “Beautiful Things,” beating out strong contenders like Shaboozey, Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae and Post Malone. Whew! What a lineup! These were some seriously tough decisions, folks!
What Are the iHeartRadio Music Awards?
Since iHeartRadio founded the show in 2014, it’s become one of the industry’s premier events. The award show uses a variety of data to determine the nominees and the winners. The award show recognizes winners across more than three dozen categories. Usually, about eight to 10 categories rely on fan-voting and social media hashtags to determine the final winner. Categories range from mainstays like Album of the Year and Best Music Video to off-the-wall social-voting categories, such as Best Fan Army, TikTok Bop of the Year and the Social Star Award.
