2026 VIP Met Gala After-Party Tickets
Traditionally held on the first Monday in May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Met Gala is THE event of the year! That puts the next edition of this prestigious fundraiser on Monday, May 4, 2026, (official date). We can’t wait for all of the VIP after-parties to be announced. At the moment, we’re just waiting on the final details: the who, the what and the where. We’re 90% there, and we’re 100% sure that it’s going to be amazing!
Met Gala Theme: Superfine
Last year’s Met Gala was based around the theme Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, and the dress code was vaguely described as “Tailored for You.” The year’s event aligned with the Consume Institute’s spring exhibition celebrating the elegant, creative and sometimes flamboyant style of Black dandyism and tailoring. This freedom-forward style and culture is associated with figures ranging from Frederick Douglass and Duke Ellington to Colman Domingo and Shaboozey.
We can’t wait to see what theme the institute will select for 2026 as it determines the flavor, no, the essence, of the entire evening. It usually determines the subject of the institute’s annual fashion exhibit, which features several hundred items hand-selected from the institute’s unrivaled collection that spans the centuries.
Who Attends the Met Gala?
The Met Gala has earned a reputation for prestige due in part to its top-secret, uber-selective guest list … and maybe the $75,000 a chair price tag. Inflation has even hit the 1% hard, with prices raising from $35,000 just a few years ago. Frankly, you can’t put a price on this type of event. That’s why the Met Costume Institute invites just a few hundred A-list celebrities each year.
Last year’s gala had an extensive list of co-hosts, including Anna Wintour, Pharrell and A$AP Rocky! LeBron James was honorary chair, and the Gala’s hosting committee included an incredible array of A-listers ranging from Angel Reese and Audra McDonald to Doechii, Usher and Spike Lee.

Enough about the gala! You want to hear about the fabulous after-parties where the celebrities turn up the heat. Every year, there are over a dozen (!!) Met Gala after-parties hosted throughout the city, and they’re all vying to be the best. These hoedowns are hosted by elite fashion houses, luxury brands and the celebrities themselves. And when it comes to parties, a certain pop star knows how to show her guests a good time by taking over some of the hottest clubs in the city. Sights from previous years include international pop stars staring down flaming vodka shots amid a sea of A-list celebrities. Plus, the late-night looks are often too hot or too cool for the red carpet. After all, there’s only so much fun one can have in a tuxedo or ball grown! If you live to cut loose, it doesn’t get better than this.

While plenty of big names attend the gala, even more attend the wild parties that rage on ’til 4 a.m. when the city’s clubs must close. Celebrities who have attended these elaborate parties in recent years include Zendaya, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Ciara, Hailey Bieber, Charli XCX, Sabrina Carpenter, among many, many others. There were even some fellows there too, such as Maluma, Stevie Wonder, Future and Leon Bridges.
