VIP First Choice Fair Pass
All art fairs have VIP programs that hand out special access cards to a select group based on purchasing power and status, including proven collectors, museum directors and chief curators among others. However, Vernissage and access to the VIP lounge are merely the tip of the iceberg. “First Choice” VIP passes offer “VVIP” access to the show.
Art Basel Miami has two tier distinction–First Choice and the Preview–as opposed to other shows that have a single VIP layer. The purpose of this extra level is to make certain that collectors and vested audiences have the opportunity to meet new collectors and establish relationships.
Art Basel Miami has defined itself by its extracurricular activities. These First Choice passes permit early access to the fair plus added entertainment and programming, which includes visiting local private collections and artist studios. Of course, there is the obligatory VIP lounge where you can meet key museum directors, curators or collectors in a more intimate zone over a glass of champagne. Pass holders enter through a VIP entrance with no lines into a VIP lounge where food and drinks are served all day. The Pass also provides access to various events all over South Beach where the parties seemingly never end. Clients receive a booklet of events with the VIP card so that they can plan ahead and not miss a thing. The VIP Cocktail and exhibit party is held the day before the show opens to the public.
